This is German History:  Bushido is the first german rapper who was ever certified platinum for his 2006 album V·D·S·Z·B·Z which stands for “Von der Skyline zum Bordstein zurück” (From the Skyline back to the curbstone). This album is full of really good songs so it was really hard to choose which 5 to present on this episode! The most interesting fact about this album is that it has no features on it. All the songs on the album are solo tracks! This is the blueprint for the german rap scene. The opening song of the Bushdio Show is “Sex in the city” which sounds like Sex and the city on purpose just to make fun of it. The second song “Alphatier” has a crazy beat and melody (and content of course). After all it is about the fact that he is the Alpha animal of the german rap scene. There is another explanation for the name on the show. Song number three is one of the best of the album so it’s dedicate to the best; My Brother! ThebestianJ. It’s called “Dealer vom Block” and talks about his past as drug dealer in the hood and his way from the streets to the charts. The most interesting song of the whole show is the fourth one called “Sonnenbank Flavour”; here he only places words after each other that represent what’s going on in his life but they don’t really form a sentence only the hook is not like this. The show ends with one of the hit  singles that is called like the album „Von der Skyline zum Bordstein zurück“. If you want to know how to write “success in the german rap scene” you have to listen to this album. Don’t miss it!

Fishing For Insults: Ghetto feat. Dre
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Lunedì 29 Giugno 2009 14:06

New show new rapper. Here it is the debut album Gutta from Ace Hood of DJ Khaleds record label We the best Music Group. It was released in 2008. So what is all this about? Gangster-Shit! This emerging artist is from Florida just like Khaled for example helping the local scene to grow and gain importance. DJ Strano Straniero presents five songs from the album including one song for the girls and one silent song at the end while the other three are gangster songs. It all starts with “Get em up” a song that actually asks you to put your middle finger up. This is followed by the hit single “Cash Flow feat. T-Pain and Rick Ross” an absolute banger that is about showing everybody how much money they earn by rapping and also by selling drugs. In the middle of the show things are slowed down a little bit so people don’t lose it completely due to the energetic rhymes of Ace Hood. The third song is the only romantic one on this show called “Ride feat. Trey Songz”; it’s also one of the hit singles and dedicated to a very special girl. But of course listening to romantic songs is not the purpose of Fishing for Insults and the next song “Can’t see Yall” is an aggressive song again. At the end of this episode a more quiet but still pretty powerful track “Ghetto feat. Dre” (not Dr. Dre) is presented which Ace wrote for the Ghettos around the world showing some love and respect to them and giving them hope. Erasmus Ghetto for ever!!! 4th floor of Copernico! We Ghetto Baby!!!

Fishing For Insults: Fuffies im Club feat. Harris
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Lunedì 29 Giugno 2009 14:06

It’s time for some german rap again. The artist presented is called Sido which spells “super-intelligentes Drogenopfer” or in english “super intelligent drug victim”. This is one of Germny’s most popular rappers who was hot from the beginning. Like a lot of other german rappers he is from Berlin. He’s making fun of everything and everybody including himself. The first two songs from his Album “Maske” released in 2004 are played in a row since they are quite short and funny. The first one is called “Interview” where Sido kind of introduces himself to the audience and the second one “Sido ausm Block” is a satire of Jenny from the Block. After that a skit is presented that is really too funny. It’s called “Sido und die Drogen”. After getting an impression about how funny this guy is a more serious song called “Mein Block” is presented. In this song he describes what happens on the various floors of his high-rise building. On the next song he introduces his crew Die Sekte. The song is called “Die Sekte feat. Die Sekte”. This song is quite aggressive and contains a lot of insults. Another hit single of the album is “Fuffies im Club feat. Harris”. Fuffie is the german expression for a fifty Euro bill. Sido also did a song for his mother called “Mama ist stolz” (Mama is proud). The version played on the show is the punk rock version featuring the Brainless Wankers. After listening to this show and the previous ones you should now have a good idea about Germany’s most popular rappers.

Fishing For Insults: Curtis
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Lunedì 29 Giugno 2009 14:06

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the 50 Cent Show. You all knew this day would come. A show that is about gangster music is not complete without Fiddy. Like most of you might already know his career started when he teamed up with Eminem and Dr. Dre and signed a deal with Shady/Aftermath. His first album “Get Rich or die tryin’” is already a classic and left everybody in the industry shook at the time it was released. On this episode some songs of this album are presented as well as some tracks from his third Album “Curtis”  (His real name is Curtis Jackson). The show starts with one of the rap super hits of the last few years “In da Club”. If you don’t know it you most likely have no idea about rap at all but don’t panic this show is here to help you. The next song “P.I.M.P.” is another classic. It talks about the life of a pimp which 50 claims to live on this song. After these two quite popular songs DJ Strano Straniero presents one of his favourite songs from Get rich or die tryin’ called “Patiently waiting feat. Eminem” where they talk about how 50 was signed by Eminem and that now after he had to wait so long the rap industry is finally about to get fucked up by them. The last two songs are from the album “Curtis” starting with “I Get Money” where he raps about his enormous richness and running New York once again. The final song of the 50 Cent Show is “Fully loaded clip” where he lyrically stabs some other rappers accusing them of being too soft and claiming that he doesn’t care about love and girls as much as other rappers do. So for those of you who didn’t know by now. It’s 50!!

Fishing For Insults: Fuck the other side
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Venerdì 05 Giugno 2009 10:06

DJ Strano Straniero presents Deeee JJaayyyyy Khaalleeeed on this episode of Fishing for Insults. The Album presented is called “We Global”. That’s really a very powerful album featuring a large number of popular rappers from the United States like Fat Joe, Kayne West, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Flo Rida, Nas, The Game, Lil Scrappy and others. This album is from the year 2008. DJ Khaled is a DJ and producer from Florida  who is affiliated with the record label Terror Squad just like Fat Joe for example. Lately he founded his own label We the Best Music group. The first song on the show which is also one of the hit singles of the album “Out here grindin’” features Rick Ross, Akon, Ace Hood, Plies, Lil Boosie and Trick Daddy. In comparison the second song “Defend Daddy” almost seems like a solo track since it only has two guest rappers Pitbull and Casely. Another song with little time to spit their rhymes on the mic for the rappers is “Final warning” which features Bun B, Bloodraw, Ace Hood, Brisco, Bali, Lil Srappy, Shwaty Lo and R.City. The fourth song is called “Fuck the other side” performed by Rick Ross and Baby Cham. The show is closed with the song “Go Ahead” by Fabolous, Rick Ross, Flo Rida, Fat Joe and Lloyd.

This description contains a lot of names but the only ones that are important to remember are: Przemek, Milan, Markus, Alex, Tajana, Silvana, Katarina, Angi, Anda, Philipp, Filipa e Jordi.

Thank you for the grande casino in Rome! This show is dedicated to you because you are the best and you are global travelling the world and doing casino everywhere.

Fishing For Insults: 20:15
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Venerdì 05 Giugno 2009 10:06

After presenting DJ Khaled to you on episode six it’s time for some german Gangster Rap again. The artist introduced in episode 7 is called Fler. He’s from Berlin like most of the successful german rappers. By the time the show was recorded he was with the label Aggro Berlin but recently he left the label and is back with his former partner and friend Bushido who is Germany’s most successful rapper. Anyways by the time the album “Neue Deutsche Welle” was released (2005) he had beef with Bushido. At the time but also today Fler is a pretty controversial rapper especially since he was often accused of being racist. On the show this is explained in more detail with the conclusion that he is no racist at all. The songs are quite aggressive though but that is typical for german rap from Berlin. The first song played is “20:15” feat. G-Hot another rapper from Berlin where he says they should be on TV at primetime because they are the new stars. The next one is “Willkommen in Berlin” where he tells the rest of Germany that Berlin is just the best city in the country although not for tourists because there are too many gangsters in the city. The third song is “NDW 2005” where NDW stands for Neue Deutsche Welle. For this song Fler was accused of being a Nazi but in the show DJ Strano Straniero explains how stupid such an accusation is. The fourth song is “Was?!” and the fifth “Ein Mann ein Wort”. In “Was?!” he is asking the people to stay of his dick and accept that he is the best. On “Ein Mann ein Wort” he is talking about his way to the top and that it is important to keep ones word which Bushido didn’t do in his eyes. Bushido vs. Fler now it’s your task to compare.

Fishing For Insults: Benzin
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Mercoledì 13 Maggio 2009 10:05

Fuck you! I don’t like you. That’s the message of this episode of Fishing for Insults; it’s the official Hate song special. The songs presented are all expressing how much the artists hate everybody. The show starts with a classic song from D-12 (Eminems Band) called “Shit on You”. The second song is taken from the Album “Aggro Ansage 5” by Aggro Berlin a group/label of rappers from Berlin who are really angry and aggressive as you can easily understand from listening to the song “Benzin”. Changing the language every song logically the next one “We all die one day” from Obie Trice feat. 50 Cent, Eminem and Lloyd Banks is american again. Like Hands on You from the Love Song Special it is taken from Obies Album “Cheers”. The next german song called “Das ist Krieg” is from Ansage 5 again and  performed by “Die Sekte”. When it comes to songs full of hate there is just no way leading past D-12 so the last song called “Keep talkin’” is also by Eminem and his band. DJ Strano Straniero kann auch aggressiv sein Junge sieh es ein  außer mir geht keiner ins Radio Studio hinein das ist Fishing for Insults diese Sendung ist nicht gedacht zum lieb bleiben.

Fishing For Insults: Love Song Special
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Lunedì 27 Aprile 2009 12:04

L…o…Low? Get Low?? Nooo! Love; yeah right this is the official Fishing for Insults “Love Song Special”. Usually love is not the first topic that comes to your mind when thinking of Rap but also gangsters fall in love some times so there are quite some songs dealing with this topic. The songs on this show are for the girls around the world. Italian, Erasmus or not it doesn’t matter you are all great; ladies this is your show! The songs and artists presented are partly from Germany partly from the USA. The first and the fourth song called “Gibt es dich?” (Do you exist?) and “Ich regele das” (I’ll handle this) are from Bushido. The three other songs are in english and feature Eminem. The second song “Spend some time” is taken from the Album Encore and features Obie Trice, Stat Quo and 50 Cent. The third song is a track from Obie Trice’s Album Cheers and is called “Hands on you”. The last song of the Love Song Special is a bit sad; it’s an Eminem solo song called “Love you more” talking about the trouble he had with his twice divorced ex wife Kim. But that is also a good example of real love marrying the same woman two times;) Let’s wait for number three though! Holla at all da girlsJ.

Fishing For Insults: The Recession
Podcast - Fishing for Insults
Martedì 31 Marzo 2009 12:03

After introducing Germany’s most important Rapper (Bushido) DJ Strano Straniero presents some American Gangsterrapper by the name of Young Jezzy on the second show. Young Jeezy a.k.a. Jeezy the Snowman has a style that is distinctive and different from a lot of other rappers in the USA. He is from Atlanta. Before he started his rap career he was a well known drug dealer that’s why he also calls himself the Snowman. Songs presented on this show can all be found on his latest Album “The Recession” (2008). The most interesting song certainly is “My President feat. Nas” which deals with the fact that maybe there will be a black president in the United States. Well now there is one but at the time the song was released it was not sure that Obama will win the election. Nas tells it all; It’s history in black history. Other songs are “Welcome back”, “Don’t you know” J (I know). “Put on feat. Kanye West” and “Takin’ it there feat. Trey Songz”.
